| Chemo + New puppy = Augh | Views: 172 |
So for some wild reason I’m now on Topotekan. The generic cancer drug. I was given no reason mainly because I have not asked I suppose and doing something is better than nothing…? Maybe.
So first time around it “Suppresses Bone Marrow” My legs had this crazy ache I use to get all over my body from the chemo back in 2007. Wow, I forgot how much it sucks esp. running after a little dog who hates walks. Who’d a thunk it. My sister took good care of him for the rest of the day once I started feeling sick. And my mom took good care of me as always. We were at my God mother’s house to swim, relax whatever. Theodore met a new playmate it was their puppy Colby who is a mini sheltie.
3 weeks 1 time a week every Friday and I get off the last week in the month. Now that I have had a taste of it, by the third week I’m going to be so sick.
I can’t wait till my aunt comes down to Pittsburgh. She lives in Eerie and is a 2 time breast cancer survivor. She will be doing the majority of the research on things since it ends up kinda disturbing if my mother and I know all the gritty details. The Dana Farber Inst. located in Boston is where it looks like I am headed. Thanks for the lead Tanya <3
Hmm… So my grandmother on my father’s side lives with her two brothers. They are VERY healthy people and want to do something for us. They opted taking me to their holistic doctor. I’m wary you’d think it would be easier to get injected with herbs and natural things from the earth rather then a mystery liquid. I said I’d go just to listen, I really don’t want to sit for an hour or more in a chair 5 times a week for it to be effective. That’s a “No I won’t do”.
What else?
Oh Zac is now in Nicaruagua for his missions trip it kinda stinks because I’m use to him calling goodnight and it always makes sleep come easier. He surprisingly called last night on his father’s phone. We talked for a whole 3 minutes 45 seconds. Apparently it’s expensive but he said he’d call me every other night until he returns home.
I wish he’d return to my home :q
He likes to burrow within a lot of blankets I supplied my favorites for him.

Oooo…chemo and puppy-messes…sounds like a blast! It’ll be a good distraction anyway, right?!?
Ask more questions! I was the most annoying cancer patient, but it at least made me feel a tiny bit more in control.
Hang in there…keep us posted.
: )
Hi, gals. Just wanted to say hi and love ya both.
I know my cancer doctor hated to see me. I was always asking questions and bugging him to death, but I needed to know.
Theodore is so adorable. He looks so comfortable in the pic.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
Hugs,
Joyce
Hey Gemma,
I have read all of your posts, and rode your roller coaster in my heart and soul. You are a particularly wonderful young woman. Everything about you sparkles, glows, and the love within you is so strong. I am so glad you are going to Dana Farber. Find out why you are on that chemo, what might you expect, and what is the plan after that. Let us all know. So many people care about you. So many people are praying for you. You have a long line of supporters and there is such strength in numbers. Keep pushing those doctors. Don’t let them tell you they are done until you decide they are done. Ask for referrals, and volunteer for any trials. We are all pulling for you. Besides, you have that sweet little Theodore who needs you now. What a doll. My 19 year old daughter and I went crazy over his pictures. Take care dear girl and keep us all posted. With much love and support, Gaile
