Feeling Poetic, and it relatesViews: 253

The Weather and I – Gemma G
I believe that the weather does as I do.
When the sun shines,
there’s a bounce in my step.
When the rain rains,
there’s a glisten in my eyes.

When it rains it pours,
and my eyes shimmer with negativity.
The dark earth soaking all it can handle,
like my strawberry flushed cheeks ,
and the liquid crystal salt.

The plants were touched by kind hands while young,
as I was when I was learning,
I’ve learned all that I need, now I’m on my own.

The rain batters the mature plants into the ground,
and forces rain up their throat,
neither of the two species ask for help because ,
the rain chokes us into a fit of grief and misunderstanding.

The rain it slows,
into just a pitter patter on our multicolored flesh.

The rain it stops,
Relief wafts over each of us like a cool breeze or the comfort of our own bed,
(be it flower or sheets)
Puddles are left to form and the gray skies they linger.

A cracked stem or a splotch of memory never leave,
they heal and dry but are there forever after the storm.

As a side note. I’d like to thank all those who replied to my previous post. I was pretty bummed out. Slockwooclimbs thanks for being sweet :) And your offer Kleigh is much appreciated. I have a few fuzzy caps to keep me warm at night or whenever I’m sick of my wig. Also your daughters are welcome to peek in if you need to get a point across. I post for the world to see and I’m aware of that. Tanya, I hope you enjoyed your trip, I’m looking forward to hearing at least a little about it, and you made me aware that there are quite a few people that do read this and don’t comment. Don’t be afraid :)

A wonderful Poem. Nicely put.

Hug

Sherri

Great Poem Gemma!

Gemma – Great thoughts in your poem. Fantastic ability! I always think of the sun and how it makes me feel better. Then I think how God’s Son does the same for me. I always feel better when I let Him shine on all parts of my life.
Hugs!
Karen
